cka exam, hardware reqs (General)

Sam Tresler

When I first signed up for the exam, the portal just showed a green checkmark next to the compatability test bullet in a list, it didn't have the nice chart with all this on it. I went back to check based on the webcam thread and realized this.

The only think on that list I'm missing for my 2pm EDT exam is that my display resolution is 1366 x 768 and I'm seeing now "Minimum 1280 x 800 resolution".

Is this going to be sufficient to take the exam this afternoon?

Thank you.

Will do. There have also been a few questions about having to go to Pearson to take it - that is not the case, the exam is entirely delivered via the web so you take it from your own computer (hence the need for a webcam). Will clarify that as well.

Eduardo, note that I see webcams on Amazon (US) starting at $8 with free Prime shipping.

Clyde, could we please update our pre-test documentation to call out the requirement more clearly.

Hi Eduardo,

Mic alone is not sufficient, you need a working webcam.

Hi,

I am preparing to take the CKA exam and doing the requirement tests I've found that examslocal.com report complains about missing access to the webcam/microphone:

My webcam is not functional in my laptop but the Mic it's fine, is the webcam mandatory or the mic is just enough ?

thanks,

Support on the site claimed, "This will not block you from taking the exam, but may impact your exam experience." I'm gonna risk it, and will let this list know if it is horrible. I imagine there won't be a problem.
