Re: exam have not launched yet in the exam portal

Hello, I have the same problem here. On the examslocal.com the launch status was "Delivery partner doesn't have the exam ready" It was also showed "Please wait ... Exam is loading". An employee of examslocal also confirmed me that the exam has not become ready and it has to be rescheduled. How is about the deadline of 31/08 when I reschedule it? Best,

Yes, that material would be fine. Any material that is not specific to the exam is OK.

Hi Matt, You're can only have 1 browser open and use multiple tabs. You are free to use a large external monitor if you need more 'real estate' on your screen. Clyde On 08/28/2017 05:11 PM, Mencel, Matt

Kubernetes Beta Exam - Multiple Monitors?
Matt Mencel
I like to have my documentation open on a side monitor, but wasn't sure if having two Chromes open on separate monitors will be allowed. The exam docs indicate only one instance of Chrome can be opened, but I thought I would check. Thanks, Matt ![]()

Further point of clarification on use of assets (including templates). Candidates are allowed to browse for and use technical documentation, including downloading and installing templates and other technical assets.

What's not allowed are exam-specific assets, meaning those created by (or with the assistance of) those with prior exposure to the exam content and for the purpose of providing specific assistance to a candidate taking the CKA exam. The goal is to provide a real world experience and candidates should not be apprehensive about using assets that they'd normally use in the course of doing their job. If use of a particular asset is flagged by the review process the candidate will have an opportunity to respond to any proposed sanction. As with any skills evaluation, please just use good judgment while taking the exam. We'll update the documentation accordingly. Please continue to provide feedback on how we can improve the exam, this Beta phase is critical to producing a finished product. Appreciate everyone's patience as we work through these details as well as some of the technical glitches. We've gotten a few questions about accessing resources during the exam so I though I'd provide a little more clarification. Candidates are only allowed to have one application (Chrome or Chromium) running during the exam. For reference resources, they are allowed to open a second browser tab and use technical documentation and also to search for such (e.g. using Google).

Web pages during the exam
Agoton DEIM
hello,
I've read about what is allowed and what's not. It's a bit confusing because someone said that you can use kuberenetes.io/docs/reference but you cannot use templates created specifically to the exam. so, just to make it clear - somebody working on the exam from CNCF/Linuxfoundation - could you confirm that with a simple yes or no answer the following: - can I use kuberentes.io/docs no matter what I find there? Because it's full of "examples" or "templates" it just a matter of what you think about that. - to make my question more specific can I read https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/policy/pod-security-policy/ during the exam for example? - if the pages mentioned above am I only allowed to read kuberenetes.io/docs/reference? - if I google for let's say: nginx kuberentes pod deployment, is that allowed? - but it's not allowed to visit eg mail.mindinfo.hu/kube-examples/ and download pre-made yaml files? I think these areas of the exam needs some clarification before some dropped out of the exam because of that. The exam is long enough with enough questions that with even using the documentation you will not be able to answer all the questions if you don't have experience (or if you have a terrible hangover for example :) ) br, Agoston

Re: CKA Beta Request
Sam Tresler
I took the test last week. You will be required to have a webcam and there is a live proctor on chat with you. You'll need to hold your ID up to the webcam, as well as pan it around the room to show that you are in a private location without other electronics around you. So, I think that section is actually still relevant, but could be clarified that it happens via webcam not in person.

I got a reminder email today for my test in Thursday. And it has the following instructions. The fact that you can take the test online makes the instruction regarding proctor and ID check irrelevant and confusing. -Yogesh ------- In addition to your user credentials, your appointment requires the following:
Start Your Exam on Time: To start your exam, login at https://www.examslocal.com/linuxfoundation, click "My Exams", and follow the instructions after selecting the exam that you want to start. You may start your exam up to 15 minutes before your scheduled start time. You MUST start your exam no later than 15 minutes after your scheduled start time. If you do not start your exam within 15 minutes of your scheduled start time, the system will automatically mark you as a No-Show and you will not be able to take your exam. ------

Beta Test Feedback?
Sam Tresler
This being a beta test and all, what is the appropriate channel to give feedback? Will there be a survey or something? What was the CNCF looking to get back from this group of testers?

Folks have identified an area where we need to add clearer instructions. Specifically, we're going to say that it's fine to open other tabs and to do web searches. Searching documentation or error message text is OK. However, searching for 'CKA exam answers' would be cause for disqualification. That's what we mean by not exam-specific. My apologies for the confusion, which we can hopefully fix immediately with updated instructions. -- Executive Director, Cloud Native Computing Foundation <https://cncf.io/> tel:+1-415-233-1000
